LAGUNA (AdChoiceTV News) — Four family members, two of them young children, were found dead inside their house in Biñan City on Tuesday afternoon.
The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police, quoting a spot report from Biñan police, said Melissa Loza discovered the dead bodies of Johnny Martinez, 46, his partner Jolly Espinas, 41, and their two children Winston, 7, and Brixton, 1, inside their house located in the interior of Bonifacio Street in Barangay (village) Canlalay around 1 p.m.
Investigators found out that Espinas and the two young boys sustained head injuries that caused their death.
Both children have cloth facemasks stuffed into their mouths, the report said.
The police report also said that Martinez was found hanging at the stairway with a nylon strap around his neck “while his hands were covered with blood.”
A bloodied hammer was recovered at the crime scene.
Probers are still conducting an investigation but are looking into the angle that Martinez could have killed the three victims.
“Immediately after, he committed suicide by hanging,” the report said.
Citing testimonies of the victim’s neighbors, the police report said “the couple are always quarreling about financial problems/difficulties.”
