AdChoiceTV News — Six overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Western Visayas who had tested positive for the UK variant of SARS Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19, had recovered in Manila before returning to their home provinces.
Dr. Jessie Glen Alonsabe, regional epidemiologist of the Department of Health in Western Visayas, said the six—three from Iloilo, two from Negros Occidental and one from Capiz—tested positive for the UK variant upon their arrival in Manila.
They were quarantined and eventually recovered.
Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer, said one of the two Negrenses was already negative for the virus when she arrived in Negros Occidental and was quarantined for another 15 days as a precaution.
The other Negrense remained in Manila.
