February 1 to 5, 2021 Coding Update wherein Metro Manila is still under GCQ

AdChoiceTV News — The Number Coding Scheme in Metro Manila and Calabarzon for the First Week of February 2021 is still suspended as per MMDA. But Truck Ban will be implemented on all major roads like Edsa, C5 etc. So for those truck drivers (6 wheels up) you are prohibited to use Major Roads on your ban hours.

Meanwhile, Makati City will still implement coding scheme but with certain exemptions. Meaning if you are travelling alone, you can’t use your car on your number coding day but if you are travelling with someone or more then you are exempted from the coding scheme.

Due to the continuing surge of covid-19 in the country Metro Manila and few other towns are still under GCQ, strict implementation for Covid-19 measures is required during this quarantine period. This includes Batangas, Cordillera Administrative Region, Tacloban City, Davao Del Norte, Lanao Del Sur and Iligan City.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has lowered the age restriction for people who can step out of their homes from 15 years old to ten years old to reopen the pandemic-hit economy but after 2 days Duterte re-order to barred 15 years old and below again due to the new variant of Covid-19.

The use of Skyway 3 will remain free of charge until the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) decides on the proposed toll rates.

The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) had earlier announced that it will start collecting toll on the newly opened evelated expressway after February 1, more than a month after keeping it toll free.

But toll collection will only be allowed after the TRB gives its approval. The toll matrix shall be published once approval is made.

Base on the proposed toll rates submitted by San Miguel Holdings Corp., the operator of Skyway Stage 3, toll rates range from P110 to P274 wherein for the 18.8 kilometer stretch of the expressway or from Makati to Quezon City motorist will pay P274 toll.

Effective February 2, 2021 all private vehicles with children are required to use the Back Seat for kids. This law meant to save children from injury and possible death during road crash.

Republic Act 11229 or the “Child Safety Motor Vehicles Act” mandates the use of the CRS also known as the Child Restraint System. Violators will be apprehended and will be penalized according to the extent of the law.
